Would you join in me in a heartfelt toast this Christmas?
Let’s raise our glasses to us.
The sinners of the world, who often forget their wings but never stop trying to fly.
We endlessly wander around, losing ourselves in life. Our nights at times so dark, we worry dawn will never be bright enough.
Mercy on us, for guarding the unspeakable truths hidden in our hearts. In keeping them inside, we keep ourselves from life.
Mercy on us, for all the times we don’t believe we deserve to be alive.
May we trust that we are loved even when far from the joy we seek.
And if our take-off still feels shaky and uncertain, may we trust the strong hands that held us all along.
Felicem Natalem Christi, Dear Ones.
